Кроме того, неотъемлемой частью нового видения реальности является богатый спектр холотропных переживаний и связанных с ними явлений. Это обширная и важная сфера бытия, для которой у материалистической науки не нашлось разумных и убедительных объяснений. После неоднократных неудачных попыток я сам потерял надежду на то, что сумею объяснить свои переживания и наблюдения в контексте понятийной схемы, которую дало мне академическое образование. Если кто-либо из критиков трансперсональной психологии сумеет сформулировать убедительную, трезвую и приземленную материалистическую теорию, объясняющую удивительный мир холотропных переживаний, я первым пожму ему руку и принесу свои поздравления.
